👁️ What is Laser DCR?
Laser DCR (Dacryocystorhinostomy) is a minimally invasive, suture-less surgery used to relieve blocked tear ducts (nasolacrimal duct obstruction). This condition often leads to excessive tearing (epiphora), eye infections, and discomfort.
Laser DCR creates a new drainage pathway between the tear sac and nasal cavity using laser energy, allowing tears to bypass the blocked duct and drain properly.
✅ When is Laser DCR Needed?
Patients suffering from:
Constant watery eyes (especially in one eye)
Recurrent eye infections or discharge
Swelling near the nose (lacrimal sac area)
Congenital or acquired nasolacrimal duct obstruction
